Supernatural Skeptics Guide to New Orleans is a brand new adventure in the fan-favorite franchise of The Walking Dead. Critically acclaimed actress Mara Junot leads listeners through a ten-part horror adventure in the role of host Sarah Bennett. This odyssey is a companion story to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners VR game from Skydance Interactive and Skybound Games, which will be available for players to dive into on January 23rd, 2020.

All hell broke loose on the last episode of the Supernatural Skeptics Guide to New Orleans when listeners learned of the terrifying encounters host Sarah Bennett faced on the first night she experienced the Walker infection. Bennett looked to have met her end when a group of infected surrounded her outside of the infamous LaRouche House and were preparing to devour her. However, an unknown figure who Bennett soon learns to be a man named Sebastian comes to her rescue with an axe and is able to fend off the infected and escort Sarah to safety inside of the LaRouche House.

We now return to where we left our survivors in Part Three: Walkers and learn of the life that Bennett and Sebastian have become accustomed to over the past few weeks following the Walker outbreak in Part Four: Apocalypse.

Those who tune in hear our host explain that it has been three weeks since the start of the infection that has turned countless people in vicious beasts hellbent on killing anything in their path. Sarah is still at the LaRouche House and is finally able to communicate via broadcast thanks to a small ham radio left behind by serial killer Bernard Brill. After a two week search for batteries, she is now able to make an effort to communicate with the outside world.

Fortunately for our host, the LaRouche House turned out to be a viable shelter from the infected and the environment thanks to a handy set of hurricane shutters. We soon learn that people have begun to refer to the monsters as “Walkers,” even though Sarah doesn’t believe that is an appropriate title for the vile creatures. “In a report I heard before the news went dark, locals referred to the infected as ‘Walkers.’ But I’m not sure that’s appropriate,” says Bennett. “We’ve got reanimated corpses biting people and turning them into more reanimated corpses. I’d call them harbingers of the apocalypse. Bit of a mouthful though, so ‘Walkers’ it is.”

Bennett is joined at the LaRouche House by Sebastian, who she explains is a firefighter from Biloxi who was in the city to help with hurricane recovery. However, he soon ran into a horde of Walkers and began his fight for survival that ultimately led to him saving the life of Bennett. There is no denying that our host is somewhat happy that she is with someone very talented at getting rid of Walkers. “We still don’t know what caused this. All we know is that the only way to stop them is by destroying their heads. Something my new roommate is exceptionally good at,” explains Bennett during her broadcast.

While Sarah is doing her best to keep herself distracted by what is happening in the world, she continues to reflect on how awful it is out there in the world of the infected. “Emergency Services are gone. No police,” Bennett laments. “No fire. No rescue.”

The military is still operational, but it is clear that military forces are more concerned with containing the infection than trying to save every person they can. “And as for the military… While out on a supply run, Sebastian ran into a military convoy approaching some survivors,” explains Bennett. “Men, women, a young girl who couldn’t be older than fifteen. Sebastian said he’ll never forget their looks of relief as the soldiers approached. Just as he’ll never forget their screams as the soldiers opened fire.”
